5/8/07 – Backbase and Kapow Technologies Partnership Unites Rich Ajax Interfaces with Unlimited Enterprise and Web Data Sources

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - May 8, 2007 – Kapow Technologies and Backbase announced a partnership to serve the growing need for Web 2.0 solutions in the enterprise, including mashups and other rich Internet applications (RIAs). Leveraging the current paradigm of rapid development, a combined solution from Backbase and Kapow Technologies enables an enterprise to integrate all of their critical data sources into Ajax-based RIAs with unprecedented efficiency, whether they are located behind a firewall, fed through a service vendor, or publicly available on the Web.

The Kapow Mashup Server gives companies the ability to take any application component with a Web interface and quickly and easily repurpose it into an application involving Web-based content, data or business logic. The Backbase Enterprise Ajax software radically improves the usability and effectiveness of online applications, and increases the productivity of the developers who create RIAs. Enterprises use the software to improve the user interface of their existing applications (aka application modernization), or to improve the ROI of online self-service platforms.

"We are pleased to be working with Backbase, because together, we enable companies to develop powerful, new Web 2.0 solutions for enterprises at a fraction of the time and costs associated with traditional application development and integration," said John Yapaola, COO of Kapow Technologies.

The initial industry vertical that Kapow Technologies and Backbase are targeting together is financial services. "Both of our companies have a strong installed base among the financial firms, as each of our companies has delivered many innovative, high-ROI projects," said Greg Crandall, VP of Business Development at Backbase. "We are currently collaborating on dozens of new application development scenarios. The possibilities are endless."
