Joint Offering Eases and Accelerates Integration of Cloud, B2B and Public Web Data for Enterprise Environments

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Jun 30, 2010 – Composite Software, Inc., the data virtualization performance leader, and Kapow Technologies, the leading provider of Web data services, today announced a new solution to simplify and accelerate the integration of critical web data in large-scale data virtualization environments.  The joint solution is called Composite Application Data Services for Web Content™, and is powered by the Kapow Web Data Server.

Improving real-time business intelligence and strategic decision-making capabilities, the new solution instantly and automatically integrates data from any web-based format, including cloud and business-to-business (B2B) applications and public Web data sources into the Composite Data Virtualization Platform without any coding required.  Users can then easily federate this data with other structured or semi-structured data sources such as relational tables, MDX-based warehouses, XML documents, web services, file systems and more, to gain an integrated view of their customers, employees, suppliers, products, markets and more required by today’s fast-paced enterprises.

According to Colin White, president and founder of BI Research, "Web content is becoming a valuable data source for analysis. The combination of Kapow for capturing Web content and Composite for merging the captured content with other types of information is a valuable addition to the data integration toolbox."

“In addition to building the most advanced data virtualization offerings, we selectively partner with other category leaders to fulfill the complex information needs of today’s sophisticated enterprises,” said Avtandil Garakanidze, SVP of Products at Composite Software.  “With hundreds of successful enterprise customer deployments, Kapow Technologies, the leader in Web data services, fits our strategy perfectly, providing a proven solution to meet this fast-growing demand.”

“As web data becomes ever more mission critical, companies can gain significant competitive advantage when they federate this data with their traditional structured and semi-structured sources,” said Stefan Andreasen, CTO of Kapow Technologies.  “The combination of Kapow’s Web Data Server and Composite Software’s Data Virtualization Platform will allow our customers to manage this process with much greater ease and agility.”

“Composite Software is on the move, last week announcing the Netezza Data Virtualizer powered by the Composite Information Server™, and last month announcing significant extensions to its Data Virtualization Platform,” said Shawn Rogers, vice president Research Business Intelligence at Enterprise Management Associates (EMA). “Fast-paced innovation is what enterprises expect from category leaders, and Composite is delivering.”

Available today, Composite Application Data Services for Web Content will be jointly integrated, sold, implemented and supported by Composite Software and Kapow Technologies.

The new offering complements Composite’s existing extensive array of integration sources including relational, MDX, mainframes, file systems, web services, XML and Office documents, message buses and more.  Additional Composite Application Data Services products are available from Composite Software to simplify and accelerate integration of SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel and Salesforce.com application sources and MDX warehouse sources including SAP BW and Oracle Essbase. Additional Kapow Technologies solutions are available to eliminate the barriers to accessing and integrating all sources of web data.
