Kapow Technologies Appoints Software Industry Veterans To Lead Worldwide Marketing And Business Development

New Vice Presidents Bring Executive Experience at Salesforce.com, Hyperion and Yahoo!

PALO ALTO, CALIF. - Jun 11, 2009 – Kapow Technologies, the leader in Web data services for business applications, today announced the appointments of Ron Yu to vice president of marketing and Rory Byrne to vice president of business development, effective immediately. Software industry veterans, Yu and Byrne have held executive leadership positions at market leaders such as Salesforce.com, Hyperion and Yahoo!. They round out Kapow’s management team as the company capitalizes on the growing market need for rapidly building data-driven applications through Web data services.

As vice president of marketing, Ron Yu is responsible for all worldwide marketing functions, including corporate communications, product marketing, customer success programs and demand generation. Yu was most recently vice president of marketing at Salesforce.com, where he led the organization’s integrated marketing programs. Prior to Salesforce.com, he directed solutions marketing for companies such as Hyperion Solutions and Portal Software (both acquired by Oracle), and Openwave Systems. Yu also spent six years at Oracle during the high-growth years, leading innovative global customer success programs. In addition, he has been on the executive team of several Silicon Valley startup companies. Yu holds a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed the Executive Management Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Rory Byrne, as vice president of business development, is responsible for extending the reach of the company’s solutions worldwide through developing and managing strategic alliances with technology and reseller partners. Prior to joining Kapow Technologies, he was responsible for acquisition integration as part of Yahoo!’s Corporate Development group. Before joining Yahoo!, Byrne led the business development team at Hyperion for three years and developed Hyperion’s most strategic partnerships, including the alliances with SAP, Microsoft and Oracle (which ultimately acquired Hyperion). At Brio Software, he developed the company’s partner program and led the recruitment of OEM and reseller partners before its acquisition by Hyperion in 2002. Prior to Brio, Byrne served as head of channel marketing for Altitude Software. Byrne is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin and qualified as a barrister-at-law in Ireland. He holds an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
